Small Černín House - Loretánské Square 8/102, Hradčany
Loretánské Square 8/102, Hradčany
Baroque building from 1722, later altered, originally a riding hall of the Černín family. The wall between the Small Černín House and Trautmannsdorf Palace in Loretánská street incorporates a small chapel of St. Barbara, built according to a project of F. M. Kaňka in 1726. Numerously repainted picture by V. V. Rainer shows a scene from a local legend about two robber barons who were impaled in a nearby execution site; one of them allegedly managed to crawl towards a Barnabite monastery where he got last Sacrament from a priest and died.
