Hrzán Palace (Palace of Hrzáns of Harasov) - Celetná Street 12/558, Old Town
Celetná Street 12/558, Old Town
Peak Baroque palace is one of the highest artistic value on this street. It was built on Romanesque and Gothic foundations in 1702-23 for Count Zikmund Valentin Hrzán of Harasov according to a plan by G. B. Alliprandi, sculptural decorations (busts, gargoyles) are probably from the workshop of F. M. Brokof. The appearance of the palace was affected by other architectonic adaptations, particularly at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. In the basement the groundfloor of a Romanesque house with a cross vault and Gothic cellars were preserved, on the groundfloor there are peak Baroque vaults.
