Donkey by the Cradle (At the Donkey in the Cradle) - Nerudova Street 25/244, Lesser Town
Nerudova Street 25/244, Lesser Town
Originally a Gothic house, with Renaissance adaptation and a Baroque façade from 1706. In 1835-41 writer J. Neruda lived there, his parents had a grocery store there; his short story A Week in a Quiet House is set there. A fresco of the Birth of Jesus on the façade faded out and only the donkey and the cradle are visible now, hence the name of the house.
