According to the Bible, Mary Magdalene was a rich and beautiful woman from Magdala. After she met Jesus Christ, she renounced her profligate and sinful life and repented. She became one of the first faithful followers of Jesus Christ, took care of His needs and did not leave Him even on His journey to Calvary. Christ appeared to her after His resurrection and asked her to tell the apostles about the miracle. There are several versions of Mary Magdalene’s life after Calvary, but they are not documented. Mary Magdalene protects penitent and seduced women and is a patron of many trades. Her attributes are penitent women, an angel, cave, skull, crucifix and thorn crown.
