Italian architect who worked among other in Bohemia, one of the main representatives of Italian mannerism in Central Europe. From 1602 he was a court builder of the Emperor Rudolph II. He built a few buildings at the Prague Castle and at royal chateaux and he designed church buildings as well. He enriched Prague architecture with elements of peak Roman mannerism and some of his buildings bear early Baroque elements.
